Our LARGE Abalone Shell is ideal for use sage sticks, powders or leaves or incense resin, etc. Abalone shells are a great accessory to aid your smudging ritual. The natural shape of the shell makes them super easy to hold and carry and the shells can take the heat of the burning sage. Our abalone shells are real. The backs may have cuts, scrapes, holes, scars and blemishes but these are considered normal as they are natural shells from sea, sometimes the black will chip off - All these are not considered defects or nor in any way used.
In Native American cultures, the abalone shell is used as a smudge bowl. Abalone meaning is one of solace, a connection to the ocean, the cycle of life, protection and ancient travel.
