Sage Smudge Sticks

Smudging is also known as the “sacred bowl blessing” in Native American cultures. The ritual of burning sage would have been accompanied by a ceremony or prayer. The intention of smudging  and still is, to clear negative energy and create an overall sense of harmony. In many instances, it might have been burned with the intention of connecting to the spirit realm. Smudging does not have to be performed in a ceremonial way, per se. You can smudge your house to get rid of negative energy or just for the aroma therapeutic effects of the smell. It should always be done with intention, nonetheless.
