Cascara Sagrada has been used traditionally by Native Americans for washing the bowel, and one of the best herbs available to help with occasional constipation. Cascara Sagrada contains compounds called anthraquinones, which helps in peristalsis – an action to do with contracting the colon walls that gives you an urge to go. Cascara Sagrada also helps achieve painless evacuations and after extended usage, the bowels will function naturally and regularly from its tonic effects. It also has a stimulating tonic effect on all nerves it comes in contact with.
